Ballarat Hospital – additional beds, ambulatory care and helipad 46.4 The project consists of three distinct components at the Ballarat Base Hospital: Project 1: Ballarat Hospital Additional Beds and Ambulatory Care Project: To provide a mix of new and refurbished buildings to accommodate the additional inpatient bed capacity at the Ballarat Base Hospital site which includes the demolition of Yuille House, development of a new 3 storey building on the Yuille House site and reconfiguration of the existing Bolte Wing and West Wing facilities. The project also includes upgrade of essential infrastructure as determined. Project 2. Helipad and Carpark:This project involves the construction of a helipad at the Ballarat Base Hospital site and additional car parking facilities. The new building comprising a car park and helipad will be constructed in the existing car park adjacent to the Emergency Department. 3.Fitout of Level 4 of BRICC Building (Project 3):This is required to decant Ballarat Health Services (BHS) Administration offices from the Yuille House. 2012-13
Barwon Health - North 28.1 The new Barwon Health‑North facility in Geelong’s north will provide an innovative and integrated community based services model. This will provide access to expanded services and minimise avoidable presentations and admissions at Geelong Hospital, through the development of an urgent care centre and co‑location of GP services. In addition, this will present opportunities for co‑investment from a range of health care providers. 2014-15

Charlton Hospital reconstruction 22.7 The project scope is to build a replacement health and ambulance facilities, located on a “Greenfield” site to meet the defined project objectives, and represents a significant improvement in the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery at Charlton. The project scope includes 2 acute beds,10 aged high care beds, 3 aged low care beds, Urgent care and GP services, Increased primary and community care, Increased allied health services, Ambulance onsite, design and documentation of Helipad onsite and decommissioning the existing hospital. 2012-13

Mildura Base Hospital expansion 5.0 Additional four (4) Emergency Department cubicles/Fast Track Beds, four (4) beds short stay unit and additional treatment areas; Additional space and amenity in the obstetrics department; and Additional offices and consultation spaces for existing and additional staff for mental health service. 2011-12
Moyne Community Health Service 3.0 A new community health building will be constructed in Port Fairy, enhancing the quality and amenity of services provided through the Moyne Community Health Service. The new facility will allow the health service to respond to local priorities and maintain and enhance its service delivery capacity across a range of primary health services. 2014-15
New Bendigo Hospital 473.0 The Project involves the redevelopment of the Bendigo Hospital and other associated Bendigo Health sites to:
  • Expand Bendigo Health’s role in providing health care services consistent with the Victorian Government's emphasis on treating patients as close to home as possible
  • Maintain and expand Bendigo Health's teaching role for the Loddon Mallee Region
  • Ensure sustainability of service provision locally and contribute to ensuring sustainability of service provision across the Loddon Mallee Region
  • Improve operational efficiency.

Prevention and Recovery Care Services - Warrnambool 4.5 A new Prevention and Recovery Care Service will be constructed to increase the range and number of mental health services in regional Victoria. An eight bed facility with two additional day places will be built in Warrnambool. 2014-15
Radiotherapy Services for South West Victoria 5.0 Development of a new Radiotherapy Centre with 2 bunkers, one fitted with a linear accelerator and diagnostic equipment including a CT Scanner. 2012-13
Regional Mother-Baby Mental Health Services - Ballarat 3.0 Functional brief is being developed. Agreement on the Medel of Care is anticipated between DH and BHS. Consultants are to be engaged by early 2013. 2012-13
