The Department of Health has arranged and funds principal controlled insurance (PCI) for department funded capital works transacted through the state government's Victorian Managed Insurance Authority (VMIA). Approved projects include:
- departmental building contracts (e.g. training centres, community facilities and ambulance stations)
- building works for funded health agencies with independent boards of management (e.g. public hospitals).
The range of organisations referred to as funded health agencies is included under the heading 'Who is Covered.'
The brokers have provided an insurance manual containing a detailed summary of the PCI program (instructions for construction contractors).
The latest version of the insurance manual for Victorian public hospitals 2006-2007 (revised as at 1 July 2006) is found at: Insurance Manual for Victorian Public Hospitals (pdf, 871KB)
